The US solo psychedelic black metal entity Rhûn has unleashed the first single from its upcoming EP record, “Burial Pact”, to be released via House of Inkantation on March 12th.
Two years in the making, “Burial Pact” marks a striking evolution for RHÛN, following the acclaimed debut LP “Conveyance in Death”. Written and recorded in 2023, this new EP takes the band’s sound into uncharted territory, blending the dark power of death/doom and melodic black metal with an unexpected but captivating infusion of psychedelic rock.
Rich with atmospheric textures, “Burial Pact” offers a sonic waves like no other. Weeping mellotrons, pulsating 60s-inspired organs, and heavily modulated guitars swirl above mid-paced grooves, creating a kaleidoscopic landscape of sound. The result is an extended play that not only reinvents RHÛN but also breathes new life into a project that was once thought to be a one-time endeavor.
