The solo Ukrainian black metal entity Буйтур has unleashed its new single, “Die Walküren rufen!” (The Valkyries are calling!). All music and vocals were crafted by Yurii Movchan, while on the cover artwork you can see the engraving “A valkyrie speaks with a raven in a wood” by Joseph Swain after Frederick Sandys, 1862. It is an illustration from the famous skaldic poem, “Hrafnsmál”, which largely consists of a conversation between an unnamed valkyrie and a raven; the two discuss the life and martial deeds of Harald Fairhair.
