MARA unveil a second spell from their upcoming ritual

The ever burning Swedish black metal band Mara unveil a new  spell from  their upcoming full-length album, “Sword of Vengeance”. The title will be released with collaboration with Immortal Frost Productions on  June 27th 2025, coming in various physical formats.

Captured in June 2023 at the enigmatic Oblivion Studio in Sjöbo, this upcoming release stands as a testament to primal creativity, chaos harnessed with reverence, and devotion to the ancient spirit of rebellion. The entire session was recorded live, breathing life into every note with organic imperfection and ritualistic force. Later in November, it was carefully edited by Simón at The Empty Hall Studio, whose subtle craftsmanship preserved the wild, unfiltered spirit of the original performance. Between August and December 2023, the material underwent a meticulous process of mixing and mastering by Seidr at Dark Prod Studio, ensuring each layer was both thunderous and atmospheric — a controlled descent into madness. Visual and aesthetic duties were handled by the creative forces of Vindsval and WrathDesign.

Notably, this work is dedicated to Loki — the shapeshifter, the trickster god, the embodiment of fire and transformation.

In the name of Loki, the Swedish Pagan Black Metal band Mara returns with their 5th Full length album «Sword of Vengeance». Just like their previous albums, the path of Mara is clear since their sound has been developing for a decade now. Straight forward second wave Scandinavian Black Metal entangled in the old lores of Paganism.

On their 5th studio album, Mara present you with 8 new songs. The production is once again raw which is nothing new when you’re used to listening to their older works, however this album delivers a more upfront vocal appearance due to the live studio recording which does creates a more intense listening. The guitars deliver you harsh power chords who simply destroy combined with some high shrieking melodies on the lead guitar. The drums and bass guitar pound their way through out the record who support the songwriting in a most excellent manner, where the vocals sound filthy and aggressive as ever before.

“Sword of Vengeance” in all its glorification is an ultimate dedicated in the name of Loki and the old ways of Paganism.
