Sardinian native black metal veterans VULTUR are finally able to reveal their new opus to the world. Their new chapter “Cultores de Perdas e Linna” has been recorded in 2023 but didn’t see light until now, in 2025. The album, whose title means “stone and woods worshippers” (which is how christians derogatery defined the ancient Nuragic population), features eight songs with lyrics in Sardinian language except for “Nemini Parco”, sung in Italian and Latin.
VULTUR style is aggressive, unmerciful and fast-paced, showcasing intriguing riffs and a certain degree of dark violence. Fans of old Satyricon, Marduk, Mayhem and Immortal will find themselves pleased, as well as for the lovers of Dissection‘s melodic bridges, old Rotting Christ‘s evocativness and Mortuary Drape‘s rhythmic dynamism and heavyness.
The artwork takes inspiration from the Sardinian popular mask “Su Boe“, one of the most important characters of Sardinian Carnival tradition.
Founded exactly 20 years ago, VULTUR has been one of the very first Black Metal acts featuring lyrics in Sardinian Campidanese language, with themes about Sardinian occultism and folk superstitions. Sardinia, the island whose ancient population dates back to the Bronze Age, features a rich archaic history and culture, whose folklore still breaths nowdays within its fond population.
