The enigmatic German black metal entity
Wiedergänger have unleashed their second
full-length album, “Stillborn Grace of
Liberty”.
All instruments, vocals and the whole production were crafted by
WDRGNGR.
Lyrics on “Tongues like Daggers, Eyes like Deserts” were heavily
inspired by and quoted after Emil M. Cioran, while the lyrics on
“Armed Too Heavily” were inspired by and quoted after Peter Wessel
Zapffe.
The artwork was done by Cláudio “Bharaduur” Moreira.
The musician states about the title:
” ‘Stillborn Grace of Liberty’ was recorded between September
2023 and November 2024, again as a result of our increasingly
plagued times and as a consequence of the threatening boot stepping
on our face – forever. It shall be a black-shining monolith of
pessimism, a pale reminder of the fragile human condition and an
invitation – a cold beckoning hand dragging us all deeper into a
slowly materializing realization: words are ash, meaning is dead
and all our aspirations are in the end futile. But it is also
rebellious and an injunction not to lose strength, resilience and
the ability to be responsible for oneself in a world that feels
increasingly disgusting and hostile. Embrace the stillborn grace of
liberty & sculpt your thrones from the remains of this shattered
world!”
