The German black metal horde Drudensang has unleashed their new ferocious  EP offering, “Geysterzvvang”. The title is out today  via Folter Records and can be ordered at the following link: https://bit.ly/4cLO1zX.

In 2013 Drudensang crawled out from the depths of Bavarian Forest, the border triangle of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. It emerged from the band Ravnsvart, which was founded in 2009 by Krámpn.
Drudensang represents the devil worship in combination with the ancient devilish myths and traditions of Bavaria and Austria. The focus is on the Krampus-and Perchtencult, witchcraft and the evil spirits of the twelve
nights between the years (Rauhnächte). The name Drudensang is made up of the words “Drude”, a witch creature from the Bavarian Forest, a kind of night alb, and “Sang”, an old german word for curse, today used as “chant” and “death wail“.In 2013, the first demo “Rehearsal 1 –Dunkle Tradition” was released. Further releases (demos, live albums, EPs and splits) followed at regular intervals. The first demos were still characterised by a very raw style, which over the years was refined further and further into the sound that is currently typical for Drudensang –pure furious Black Metal with an raging old school style and atmospheric fragments as the perfect soundtrack to the wild doings and wild hunts of Krampen and Perchten during the Rauhnächten. After almost 10 years in 2022, on Walpurgis Night, Drudensang unleashed their first morbid full-length opus “Tuiflsrijtt”, a divine monument of macabre devilry and depraved deathworship under the banner of the extremistlabel Folter Records.

In the Beginning of 2023 Drudensang went on a european crusade, Tuiflsrijtt over Europe Tour, through Germany, Belgium, Swiss, Italy, Czech Republic and Austria together with the old underground force Total Hate, Whiskey Ritual and Amystery. Drudensang has been performing regularly since 2015. These performances are celebrated with ritualistic intensity. Together with Bands such as Eminenz, Crimson Moon, Taake, Urn, Amystery, Strid, Ancient, Krater, Belphegor, Watain etc. each time delivering an intense orgy of blackest repulsion with blood, cadavers, spikes, fire, mould and death. In the ninth month of the eleventh year, the band once again entered the studio to record their next morbid masterpiece, which after three years of composing finally had grown into it´s full abominable shape. For the finishing touches, the band went to StudioKlangschmiede E (Also used by Secrets of the Moon, Bethlehem, Dornenreich, Dark Fortress, Eisregen, Schammasch,…) where it was mixed and mastered by Markus Stock (Empyrium, Sun of the Sleepless, The Visions Bleak).
The end result became „Geysterzvvang“ six gospels of impurest Black Metal fanaticism. Vomited out of the great abyss of the bavarian forest, „Geysterzvvang“ (tranl. compulsion of dark spirits and demons) compels the devil spirits and demons of the underworld to rise during the Rauhnächte (twelve nights / between the years) through furious black metal. In magic, the word “compulsion” is associated with the concept that the demons of hell can be forced to appear and obey through rituals and invocations.

Gates to the netherworld are open, trumpets are blown. Cycle closes again and cloven hooves strikes with thunderous might. The living dead, disgorged from the dark throat of the Otherworld, rise from reeking graves and spit the lustful drops into the night sky, while devils and witches set the ether on fire. The wild hunt that rises to devour souls, when the sickle of Luzier appears upon us and she reveals us screaming:

„A bowl full of intestines,
A chalice full of blood,
cut open the stomach, cut open the stomach,
fill it with stones,
throw them into deep waters!“

At the same time as the release of the EP, Drudensang work on the next full-lenght opus, festival assaults are coming up (Party San, Ghosts of Dinmin, Death & Damnation,…) and a Tour is fixed for October throughout Europe. Drudensang remain one of the few heralds of the dangerous sickness that still floats from the Black Metal Abyss. Be it known.
