There are nights when the world holds its breath, and in that stillness, something stirs, wordless and distant, like a voice echoing from a place you’ve never seen… a shape in the fog, a pull beneath the ribs… and suddenly, it’s there, nameless, veiled, yet somehow known… an enigmatic project that doesn’t announce itself, but envelopes you with a solemn grace…
That project is Dös, a vision whispered into being in the shadowed wilds of Sweden, a lone spirit reaching through time, tracing the ghost-lines of ancient myths, forgotten gods and the aching silence of the North. What emerges is a deeply personal rite, carved in sound and solitude, atmospheric black metal vast as the sky, intimate as breath, drifting like mist through the bones of forsaken forests.
At the heart of his debut full-length album lie two poems, “Det eviga” and “Den döde”, penned in the early 19th-century by Esaias Tegnér, verses now reborn as five sweeping songs… through them, the artist behind Dös channels a black metal that both whispers and roars, immense yet intimate, as fierce as it is fragile… sculpted from silence and shadow, from longing and the half-remembered echo of ancestral grief.
Released as a unique edition limited to only 66 hand-numbered copies, “Det eviga och den döde” is presented in a luxurious, oversized 4-panel digifile, handcrafted and printed on exclusive heavyweight matte-laminated paper, complete with a printed cardboard sleeve to protect the CD.
