MYRKVID present their new opus, “Nihilist”, in its entirety

Today, the French black metal band Myrkvid presents their  second full-length album in its entirety. “Nihilist” will be released on May 23rd via Immortal Frost Productions , coming in various physical formats, as well as on digital format through all major platforms.

All music was written by Myrkvid,with the song ‘Blackening Millenium’ being written by Adra and ‘To Bleed A World’ – written by L.Landvoettir. All lyrics were written by Myrk. In the album, there are a few guest appearances – guest vocals on ‘Blackening Millenium’ were done by Morgraven from Excruciate 666, while guest vocals on ‘The Old Temples Below’ were handed to Hellfire from Warfield. Vocals were recorded at Chäuer Studio Bärn in late 2023 & early 2024. All mixing and mastering was crafed by Ludovic Tournier in Vacuum Tehiru Records Studios.

Myrkvid is back after nearly 7 years with their second full length album “Nihilist”. Once again these French Bastards deliver an album in the vein of old school Black Metal entangled with some filthy Black ‘n’ Roll.

Classic Black Metal chord riffing that switches between tremolo and fast picking supported by subtle blast beats and a punchy bass guitar. The vocals are aggressive and dominant and come best forward on the few slower moments. Throughout the album the band creates here and there room for the lead guitar to shine through the raspiness of the rhythm guitar. The music production of the album in overall is raw which brings you straight back to the mid 90’s.

Myrkvid wrote a record that delivers that old school 90’s black metal sound. Raw, Furious, Filthy with no remorse! A record to bang your heads too in the name of the Devil! Hail Satan!

MYRKVID was founded by Myrk in early 2007. After some line-up changes and two years of rehearsals, the band started playing shows in France, Belgium, Germany, etc. and recorded the first EP “Satanic Inquisition” in 2010, limited to 500 copies on CD.

In 2012, the band signed a production deal with the Swiss label Asgard Hass Production and released their first EP on vinyl, with live recordings from Sequane Fest III in France, where they played alongside acts like Aosoth and Urgehal.

At the end of the year 2015, the band has taken the decision to step back from live performances in order to focus on writing new material and to let the drummer more free time to play live shows with his other bands, namely Angantyr and Make A Change, Kill Yourself.

In early 2018, Myrk (guitars & vocals), Skogsvandrer (drums), and Askr (guitars), signed a new production deal with Immortal Frost Productions and entered the studio to record a new EP entitled “Demons Are Inside”.

In 2025, there was another line-up change and the band has welcomed  two new members: D.L.B. (bass) and Berghart (drums), replacing  Adramelech and Skogsvandrer. The live activity of the band is re-enforced and MYRKVID are part from events like Noche Oscura Festival, Forest Fest Open Air part.XIII, concerts with their fellow comrades  Malphas and Nocturnal, and more. Their new album,  “Nihilist”, is about to meet the world this year. Prepare for the bleakest of their works to date…
