Sun After Dark, a new band led by Benjamin König (ex-Lunar
Aurora), unveils a new track from their debut album,
“Tatkraft”, to be released on 13th June via Hammerheart
Records.
Sun After Dark blends modern elements, dark tones, black metal and
powerful moods to tell stories of life’s experiences! Sun After
Dark is a project by Benjamin König from Germany – a founding
member of the black metal band Lunar Aurora. There he was
mainly responsible for the composition of 9 albums and various
compilations. With Sun After Dark he has now created his own debut
album entitled „Tatkraft“ (German word for drive/energy/moxie).
“Life consists of stories, experiences and episodes. Mastering it often requires Tatkraft.”, says the musician.
The lyrics are written in English, German and Bavarian dialect. Production was handed to Victor Bullok (Triptykon) in Woodshed Studio, autumn 2024. As part of their collaboration, Thomas Helm and Benjamin König decided to continue this project together in the future. Sun After Dark is purely a studio project and is not planning any concerts. Those involved in this project have their own well-known bands and can also be seen on stage there.

Benjamin comments:
“‘Burning
Blue’ is an almost catchy and straightforward song. The plot
revolves around the ancient dream of flying: in this case, flying
through the night, over ruins and through dark dungeons. Lots of
clichéd themes, but atmospherically packaged and made to float and
immerse yourself. Enchanted with dust from old times, like a fairy
tale, almost forgotten, yet burned into our childhood. I think we
all know these nightflight dreams. The basic form of the song is
many years old, but has been reworked for this album. Now was the
right time and place for this song.”
