BLACK HATE announce their split, marking the end of an era

June 4 , 2025 | 11:11

Founded in Mexico by B.G. Ikanunna as a solo project in 2006, Black Hate soon became a full band with a last know line-up, consisting of B.G. Ikanunna (main force and vocals), Satoshi Lira (drums), J. Ambriz (guitars and backing vocals) and Qayin (bass).  Burning with the black flame of the dark creation, the fierce endevour became a synonym of passion and dedication,  and fascinated a lot of eyes and ears on almost every point on the World map. With six full-length albums and countless split releases and EP records, Black Hate might be considered as one of the most influential acts in Mexico.

Their latest album, “Via Pvrgativa: Qui Spiritu Diaboli Aguntur Hi Filii Satanae Sunt”, was released last year and you can listen to it  below:

In the beginning of June this year, B.G. Ikanunna decided to close the final chapter of Black Hate, marking the end of an era in the Mexican black metal underground,  and start writing an entirely new book, with new inspiration and vision.

“It’s been nineteen years since I started Black Hate. Back in 2006, I was 18 years old, and had many ideas I needed to place somewhere. I found in music the ideal outlet to vent all the rage, depression and shit that I had in life back then. Black Metal was, and is still a wonderful way, in my opinion, to express myself and the turmoils of the human mind. Today, almost 20 years from the foundation of this entity, I can say is time to move forward, leave in ithe past a name that could be misunderstood away from my true values and opinions. Today marks the end of Black Hate as you know it. It is necessary to embrace the struggle in this crucible of chaos and be born anew, under a new name and a new vision. Thank you all for your invaluable support through all these 19 years. Black Hate ends here and now.”, the musician stated.

We’re all thrilled to know what comes next. Stay tuned and embrace the darkness, lurking  behind the corners of the future.
