A decade after the release of the dutch black metallers Necromantic Worship’s first demo, the band reemerges to deliver one of the most highly anticipated debut albums in years. With this self-titled full-length release, Necromantic Worship far exceeded the high expectations set by the band’s extraordinary demos released on NWN! between 2015-2016. The band was dormant until 2023 when they appeared on a privately released split 7”—with fellow Dutch black metal band Erscheinung—to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Netherlands-based label New Era Productions. With this album, Necromantic Worship perfect the style they established with their demos. There is arguably no band in the last 20 years who has so thoroughly mastered the sound created by Necromantia, Tiamat, and Varathron. Guided by thunderous bass lines that simultaneously provide structure and melody, the songs here are meticulously composed, deftly executed, and steeped in dark numinous visions and occult reverie.
