Sunken come from Denmark and lead a new generation of atmospheric black metal in Europe. It seemed almost unattainable to experience them south of the established festival cities, but the band decided to explore places they had not had the opportunity to visit before. They may not be the most unique representatives of the Danish metal scene, but their second album Livslede pushed them onto the stages of numerous prestigious festivals.

This is a well-rounded and emotionally powerful release of atmospheric black metal that fans of bands like Wolves In The Throne Room, Woods Of Desolation and the like should definitely not miss. They are not bothered by comparisons to their own idols. They accept them with respect, but their sound is also shaped by a number of less obvious influences. Their regional origins also resonate strongly in their art, contributing to the expressiveness and depth of their music.

Sunken bring a sense of melancholy, contemplation and natural silence, transformed into monumental waves of distortion. Their live performance is not just a concert but an audiovisual experience that blurs the boundaries between sound, space and the spiritual. This is especially true for the presentation of their new album Lykke, which will see the light of day this winter.

Ultima Necat hail from Germany, and their music is both introspective and ruthless. They don’t seek shock value or aesthetic pretentiousness in their black metal expression. Instead, they focus on emotion, thought, and atmosphere, creating a sound that feels more like confession than aggression.

Their songs exude philosophical unrest, existential questions and a deep sense of inner conflict. The band’s artistic identity is shaped through a combination of minimalist production, expressive vocal interpretation and carefully constructed layers of instrumental tension. Ultima Necat do not create music for background, but for complete immersion. The sound they bring is not only a reflection of the black metal tradition, but also its questioning, dismantling and rebuilding.

The performances of this band are rare and intense. They do not strive for mass, but for connection. Every Ultima Necat concert is more of a ritual than a show, and every tone is a space to face yourself.

The Danish atmospheric black metal formation Sunken has been forging its presence on the European scene since 2012, capturing its melancholic, depressive yet ethereal soundscapes on the EP The Crackling of Embers (2013) and the albums Departure (2017) and Livslede (2020). On October 24th, 2025, the band will unveil its third full-length, Lykke, via the German label Eisenwald Records, and will present it in its entirety on December 15th, 2025, at Channel Zero as part of an extensive European tour.

The discography of avant-doom/noise veterans OvO is a prestige in itself, as the Italian duo has released ten albums- and countless singles and collaborations—since their formation in 2000.
