Blackened death metal band GRAUFAR unveils another glimpse into their forthcoming offering,  “VIA NECROPOLIS”, to be released on March 20th (https://graufar.com).  The instruments were recorded by Gernot G. in 2025, Austria. The sound-design, the vocal rordings, the reamping and all mixing & mastering work were done by Norbert Leitner in the summer of 2025, Austria. The cover artwork was crafted by Verena Lindlbauer.

GRAUFAR was founded in 2020 in Linza, Austria. On April 13th, 2024, the band released their well-received independent debut album, “SCORDALUS”, In the same year, GRAUFAR won the Wacken Metal Battle Austria and went on to place ninth in the international finals at Wacken Open Air.

Through the 7 tracks long output the Austrian band creates a groovy symbiosis of black and death metal, complemented by well-accented melodic elements. The black metal screams are occasionally interrupted by deep growls. Both the English and German lyrics explore themes such as social criticism, the darker sides of human nature, transience and death.
