Hailing from Greece, Primal Cult reveal their sophomore offering, “Dark Passage” – a work rooted in melodic Hellenic Black Metal, where myth and contemplation unfold as a shared path through the dark seas of conscience and the eternal ordeal.
Founded in 2012 by Eve Alchemy and Aro Raven, Primal Cult has long explored themes connected to nature, inner conflict and ancient imagery. On Dark Passage, those ideas unfold through a record that balances atmosphere, melody and contemplation without losing the harsher edges of black metal.
The album moves through seven tracks built around flowing guitar work, layered keyboards and melodic structures that carry strong traces of the Hellenic black metal tradition. Rather than focusing purely on aggression, Dark Passage leans into pacing and atmosphere, treating the album as a continuous journey through what the band describe as “the dark seas of conscience and the eternal ordeal.”
At the centre of the project is Eve Alchemy, who handles
guitars, vocals, keyboards, songwriting, lyrics and arrangements.
The album also features session contributions from Krotos on drums,
Setesh on bass, Michalis Kontos on cello and Babis Konstas on
piano, adding extra texture throughout the record.
Released through Northern Silence Productions, Dark Passage
combines black metal foundations with melodic depth and reflective
songwriting, keeping one foot in tradition while allowing space for
atmosphere and emotional detail to develop naturally across the
album.
The album is out now via Northern Silence Productions.
