Two years after their debut offering, the Austrian horde Draugr announce the arrival of their second full-length opus. “Ahnenfeuer – Ginnungagap Chaos Pt. I” will be released on September 25th via Immortal Frost Productions, coming in various physical formats. All music for the album was written by Asator, the recording engineering was done by Malphas, while mixing & mastering were handled by Simón Da Silva at The Empty Hall Studio in Madrid, Spain. In the album, guest vocals by Ragnar of Theotoxin appear on the song “Flammenmeer”. The cover artwork was crafted by Stefan Todorovic / Khaos Diktator Design.

Draugr is an Austrian pagan black metal band from Carinthia, Austria, formed in 2023 (originally founded as “Psalm”). They are known for their raw, aggressive, and old-school black metal sound, heavily inspired by Nordic mythology, ancestral wisdom, and spiritual darkness. Their new title “Ahnenfeuer – Ginnungagap Chaos Pt. I” blends German and Old Norse mythology to set a dark, primordial theme: “Ahnenfeuer” translates from German as “Ancestral Fire.” It represents heritage, tradition, and the flames of lineage, while “Ginnungagap” adds an even deeper meaning – in Norse cosmology, this is the primordial, magical void or “yawning abyss” that existed before the creation of the universe , it was a realm of unformed chaos and infinite potential. This  new offering comes as an  exploration of the cosmic disorder, the void, and chaos, representing  a narrative journey bridging ancestral heritage and the raw, formless chaos of the Norse void.
