Hailing from Canada, the sci-fi themed black metal band ENDSPACE reveals a new transmission from its forthcoming debut offering, “First Contact”, to be released via Transcending Obscurity Records on October 2.
Band’s statement: “Endspace came from a hunger to explore beyond the scope of what was possible with our death metal band Fractal Generator. After jamming and writing together for 13 years, we wanted to create something more black metal, but also to push the genre 1000 years into the future with heavy use of synthesizers and vocoders. The result is an epic, otherworldly experience that leaves you wondering what planet and what year these futuristic sounds came from! Can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on! Prepare for transmission.”
The two members of Endspace, who are also in the death metal band Fractal Generator, play all the instruments on this record and use synthesizers and vocoders to make music that sounds as if it’s emanating from beings on some distant planet. The songs are called transmissions here and each one has a different identity and purpose, making this an utterly fascinating and unique listening experience. The music is tenuously black metal, with its elements taken apart and pieced together using futuristic components, coalesced using death metal and industrial influences, and of course a wide range of all the weird, extraterrestrial sounds to make this record as convincing and out there as possible.
