Now in their 37th year of blasphemous brutality, legendary Finnish black metal  iconoclasts ARCHGOAT remain one of the most single-minded and relentlessly visceral bands in extreme music. Ahead of the 11th September release of new album “Nightbringer, Lightbringer“, the Finnish legends now unleash a second angelslaying attack!

Composer Ritual Butcherer had this to say: “The album’s concept moves through the ancient tension between Darkness and Light as twin emanations of the same hidden current. Darkness is not merely absence, and light is not merely revelation; both are gateways, both can blind, and both can consume. In that sense, the album deals with dualism as a ritual conflict, where creation and destruction, illumination and corruption, descent and ascension are bound together in the same occult cycle. The Nightbringer and the Lightbringer are reflections of one another: two masks worn to euthanise Christianity as the everlasting night drapes it and then as a Lightbringer of the new dawn of the Satanic Millenium. Armageddon is not presented as a final ending, but as the inevitable revelation of this cycle: the moment when all opposites collapse into one apocalyptic truth and the hidden current beneath existence rises to consume the world.”
