On November 12, internationally, Void Wanderer Productions, Zwaertgevegt, Hidden Marly Production & Jems Label are proud to present Asgrauw’s striking new album “Solips”. All music for the album was recorded , mixed & mastered by Batr, while the album artwork was crafted by the respected artist Ronarg .

Asgrauw (Dutch for “ash gray”) formed in 2010 in Groesbeek, Netherlands, and has become a notable name in Dutch black metal. The trio, consisting of Batr (drums), Kaos (bass and vocals) and Vaal (guitar and vocals). Balances harsh and shouting vocal styles to create a dynamic, atmospheric sound that works powerfully both on record and live.

Musically rooted in the second-wave black metal tradition, Asgrauw explores thematic depth with lyrics about mythology and apocalyptic themes, the origins of humanity and cosmic narratives. Their sixth studio album, Oorsprong, was released on 31 October 2024 and earned praise for mature songwriting, vocal interplay and standout drumming.

The band releases music through labels such as Zwaertgevegt (NL), Hidden Marly (JP) & Death Prayer Records (UK) and partners like Void Wanderer Productions (NL) for select editions. Asgrauw is recognized for intense performances and a steady discography since 2010. The band is now ready to unleash their new work, “Solips” upon this imaginary world.

“There is no truth but your own” is the main philosophical message of the album to come. Since 2010, Asgrauw has been carving their name into the blackened heart of the Dutch underground. No trends. No compromises. Just a homage to the second wave’s frostbitten fury, twisted through their own merciless vision. And now, with “Solips”, they’ve sharpened the blade even further.

Seven albums in, and Asgrauw still doesn’t give a damn about your expectations. Solips is a reckoning, a brutal, unflinching dive into the abyss of perception. You want answers? You’ll get questions. You want comfort? You’ll get the cold, unyielding truth: reality is yours alone to define. “After Façade” (2022) tore through the fragile boundary between life and death; where rituals, madness, and the desperate hunger for immortality pulsed beneath every riff. “Oorsprong” (2024) rewrote humanity’s origins through the myth of the Anunnaki, Asgrauw now turns their gaze inward. Perception. Observation. Time. Experience.
