When it comes to Serpents Oath, we just can’t discuss music only – their work is an all-consuming ritual.
Created in 2020 by brilliant musicians with no big history in the black metal genre, the band presented a mind-blowing symbiosis of philosophy, Luciferianism and a crushing dose of black metal with their debut album, “Nihil”.
In other words – from the very beginning of their musical journey, the band unleashed a brand new Beast in the world of music, which captivates you and doesn’t let you go until it fulfills its goal – to purify and transform you.

This is exactly what awaits the listener in the second full-length album, “Ascension”, but with even more unceasing greatness.
‘Ascension’ is a challenging album, powerful and carrying unadulterated pure energy. The very idea here is to squeeze your throat and make you drop all the false dogmas, look through your perceptions and surrender to your own essence, to discover your own light, to become your own God.
A transcendental adventure that offers an experience far beyond the flesh, turning everything inside you and if you are open enough to yourself and your own energy – it may gift you with a lot of light.

The album contains twelve songs and lasts a little over 40 minutes… and believe me, when I tell you – they feel like one.
You play the recording and completely forget about everything else, you are obsessed and only a minute after the silence in the end…. you finally enter the earth dimension just to press the play button again.

The magic begins with the short epic intro “Invocation Pestum”, and very quickly passes to the supreme energy of “Summoning the Ancients”.
When I pierce my enemies with the spear of knowledge, light and strength of my spirit, this is my anthem. This song will not only stay for a long time and will be permanent in my playlists along with other names like Mortuus Umbra, Urfaust and Panzerfaust, but it definitely makes a lot of sense for me and I believe it’s already the same for other listeners.

And this is just the beginning ..
In the next ten anthems, the situation becomes even more obsessive when we meet ‘The Mighty Serpent’ and the whole whirlwind of ritualistic atmosphere, fast guitars, powerful vocal ivocations and lyrics that resonate with every Luciferian soul.
Dynamically composed and with built-in pure emotion, the pieces carry the Fire within them and do not reconcile until they burn everything to the core.

In addition to this dynamic, the idea of short preludes before each pair of songs in the form of invocations definetely contributes with a lot of atmosphere. There are four of them in “Ascension” : “Invocation Pestum”, “Invocation Perversum”, “Invocation Maledictum” and “Invocation Infectum”, therefore dividing the album into four various movements embodying part of the essence of Luciferian values and the thorny path of the Light Bearer to his inner power and knowledge.

The album cover was created again by the great artist Néstor Avalos and represents the next stage of Lucifer’s rebellion, featured on the cover of the band’s first full-length album, “Nihil” (2020). There is a whole concept behind the painting depicting “Ascension”: Lucifer has stormed the Throne of God only to find it empty and thus ascends to become his own God. Resonating, isn’t it?

An album about the greatness of the human spirit and mind, about the victory over the flesh and over death itself.
