After three years, Swedish black metal giants Marduk are returning to Zagreb as part of their European tour “Memento Mori”, this time to Boogaloo. The date to mark in crayon is Wednesday, February 19th. They will be joined on the tour by Doodswens, who are already well-known to the local audience, and this black feast is opened by Sumus Diabolicus Incarnatus from France and Irae from Portugal.
Early bird tickets are available for purchase at 29 euros through Hangtime Ticketing, and will soon be available at the Dirty Old Shop. Pre-sale tickets will cost 32 euros, and on the day they will cost 35 euros.
Marduk is one of the biggest names in black metal, but even the
crows on the branch know that. They always add a pinch of death to
their musical expression, and sometimes they even throw in a more
melodic note, but then they would quickly return to merciless
thrashing (note: listen to “Panzer Division” of Marduk on an empty
stomach). They named themselves after the Babylonian deity, and
they were formed in 1990 in the Swedish city of Norrköping. Morgan
Steinmeyer Håkansson is the spiritus movens of the whole story,
driven by a very simple mission – he wanted to make the most
blasphemous band ever, which he largely succeeded in. In a very
rich and colorful career, they have released 15 albums. On this
occasion, they will promote the last of them, “Memento Mori”, which
was released in September 2023 by Century Media Records. In
addition to Morgan, better known by the nickname Evil, the
permanent members of the band are vocalist Mortuus (Daniel Rostén,
founder of the great band Funeral Mist) and drummer
Bloodhammer.

Doodswens (Dutch for “dood swens” – death wish) is a black metal
band formed in 2017 in Eindhoven. It consists of members I. on
vocals and drums and Riccardo Subasi on bass. They have released
four albums so far: the demo “Doodswens” (2019), the split “From
the Shadows of the Abyss” (2020), the full album “Lichtvrees”
(2022) and this year’s live “Het nieuwe licht”.

Sumus Diabolus Incarnatus is a relatively new black metal band
from Lens. They have only one album under their belt: Les louanges
de Baël – Livre 1 from 2022. The band members are Amaymon on bass,
Paymon on drums and Baël on vocals. This will , of course, be
their first performance in Croatia.

Irae is a one man raw black metal project from Lisbon, backed by
Vulturius, and has been on the scene since 2002. It would not be
good to confuse them with the American christcore band of the same
name. In a very fruitful career, he released a number of demos,
splits, compilations, as well as four studio albums.
The most current of them, “Assim na Terra como no Inferno” from
2022 will be promoted on this occasion at Boogaloo.
