GORGOROTH’s 33 Year Anniversary Tour arrives at Ljubljana in March

January 17 , 2025 | 15:15

The Norwegian black metal masters Gorgoroth are completely ready to devour the souls of everyone present at Orto Bar, Ljubljana, (Slovenia) on March 23! This is the only date in the Balkans for their 33 Year Anniversary Tour this year, so don’t forget to mark the date.

In case you have never heard of the name GORGOROTH or you’ve suffered a sudden amnesia… let me refresh your memory. It is Norway 1992, when GORGOROTH emerge intent on being one of the most uncompromising bands on earth. And they have succeeded. The band was formed in 1992 by guitarist Infernus, who is the sole original member remaining at the moment, and has released nine studio albums. Gorgoroth are a Satanic black metal band and have drawn controversy due to some of their concerts, which have featured impaled sheep heads and mock crucifixions. With the current line-up, consisting Francesco Giacomin (aka Guh.Lu, Kekko) on bass, Fabio Zperandio on guitar, Błażej Kazimierz Adamczuk (aka Paimon, Skyggen) on guitar,  Roger Tiegs (aka Infernus) on guitar, Tomas Vilhelm Asklund (aka Alzazmon) on drums, and  Stefan “Atteringer” Todorović on vocals, you must expect nothing less of a total blast of pure darkness.  A cult historical act is about to emerge on that scene at Orto…

Except the headline act, the tour will be supported by three other bands : Aeternus (Blackened Death Metal), Archaic (Thrash Metal) and Death Rattle (Groove Metal).

Aeternus is a Norwegian blackened death metal band from Bergen. It was formed in 1993 as an idea of Ronny Hovland, calling himself Ares, and Erik Heggernes, a.k.a. Vrolok. Later in 1996 Nicola Trier, a.k.a. Morrigan, joined the duo as a bass player, forming the core trio that created the band’s first two albums. For the first two albums, the band called their own style “Dark Metal”. They released their debut album, Beyond the Wandering Moon, in 1997 on Hammerheart Records , and toured that year with black metal bands Emperor and Limbonic Art through Europe.Their second album, “…And So the Night Became” was released in 1998, accompanied by a tour supporting Deicide, and was later re-released in several different formats. In the period between 2008 and 2011, the band entered a lull. V’gandr left the band to concentrate his work on his own band Helheim and continued to be a session member at Norwegian black metal band Taake. Ares reformed the band with Phobos on drums and new guitarist Specter. Soon the work for a new album began. In the current line-up they were back on stage in 2013 and released their seventh album, “…And the Seventh His Soul Detesteth”. Their last album, “Philosopher”, was released in the autumn of 2023 via Agonia Records.

Archaic are a Hungarian thrash metal band from the early 2000’s.The band has a clear aim to carry on the flag of the classic thrash genre with a modern 21st century sound, diverese tempos, catchy melodies impregnated with a relentless energy on stage in order to give the best live experience for any metal fan attending our gigs.Archaic have three full-length studio albums and hundreds of gigs in their long history. After the release of their first album ’Time Has Come to Envy the Dead (2005 Vic Records) and an intensive 5-year period of gigs and tours, including a support tour with Testament, the band was forced to stop for many years becuse of varoius personal reasons and line-up changes, until they reunited again with a new line-up and came back with a brand new release called ’How much blood would you shed to stay alive?’ in December 2017.Later on in 2020 they continued the recordings of their upcoming album but unfortunate line-up changes, the covid pandemic and other factors set new obstacles in the way. The most significant change happened at the position of the lead vocalist, as after Tamás left the band, the guitarist, Peter stepped into his place, and it took a while to rearrange and re-record the vocal tracks for the new songs. The new album named as “The Endgame Protocol” was finally finished by the end of 2021. The album was released on 4 March 2022.The album received excellent international reviews, resulting in a growing interest in the band. In Hungary, ‘The’Endgame Protocol’ was the album of the month in HammerWorld magazine and also opened at no. 2 in the domestic sales charts. Along with the outstanding reception of the album, the band has also received international acclaim. After this the band kept on playing live as much as possible in clubs and festivals, both in Hungary and in the neighbouring countries and at the end of 2023 signed a worldwide deal with the US based Extreme Managment Group in order to enter the international metal metal scene on a larger scale and to pave the the way for their upcoming 4th album which is currently in production.

Death Rattle are US groove metal band, existing since 2009. Through the years the band has released two full-length albums – “Man’s Ruin” (2012) and “Volition” (2017) , and came up with the new single “Immersed in the Black” in 2024.
Reconstituted in 2016, founding members Ryan Vanderwolk (guitar) and Chris Morin (drums) alongside longtime bassist Kevin Adams brought Trey Holton (vocalist) into the fold. Death Rattle marries elements of groove metal and melodic passages to produce something aggressive and unique. There is an undercurrent of the corrupting nature of power that flavors the lyrical storytelling as the band pairs the violent nature of humanity with the tension and catharsis created by their music. They have proven themselves to be a group of artists that can craft something that resonates with metal fans worldwide and deliver a live show to captivate any audience.
The elements that make Death Rattle such a special band, their passionate delivery, technical performance, and intensity, are apparent all throughout the record. They are also showcased brilliantly in the live show where Death Rattle truly sets themselves apart, connecting with every audience in every city in a way that is almost unmatched.
