Furious frenzy, cutting melodies, choral chants, atmospheric gloom – Empeiria celebrate the soot-blackened, scandinavian extreme metal of the past three decades without subjecting themselves to restrictive genre boundaries.
“The Ascent: Szenen der Katharsis”, a tripartite concept album, pictures the voyage of the lyrical I, driven by tormenting doubts & feelings of guilt (I – III), strengthened by burgeoning confidence (IV – VI) up to the all-encompassing, existential realization (VII). These evolving themes are reflected in the atmosphere and the compositional approach of the seven compositions.
All music was recorded, mixed & mastered by Markus Stock at Klangschmiede Studio E, who also appears with a guest contribution (synths) on “I”.
