The Mexican black metal entity Icxitonttli returns with its new full-length offering, “Praeteritum Vitas”, out now via Quetzalcóatl Records.

Berith Kallpell, the sole member of the band at the moment, unveils some details about the album: ” ‘Praeteritum Vitas’ is an album that marks a return to our darkest roots, compiling the anthems that defined our beginnings. This work is a collection of the band’s most iconic hits, re-recorded with renewed quality and aggressiveness, without losing the raw and provocative essence that characterized the band from the beginning. This release, made in collaboration with Quetzalcóatl Records-Mictlantecuhtli Records , is a rallying cry against religious shackles, using blasphemy as both a banner and a weapon. Composed of 8 secular hymns, this album revives themes that have stood out in the history of Icxitonttli. Songs like “Batalla,” “Noche De Ritual Y Blasfemia,” and “Salve Máximo Rey Satanás” are present as sound manifestations of a call to all brothers and children of Satan to rise up. and spit in the face of the crucified Messiah. ‘Praeteritum Vitas’, a reimagining of Icxitonttli’s legacy, a declaration of war that reminds our faithful listeners of the importance of past lives and the roots of the band’s music.
