Far from the cities, where silence deepens and shadows cling to the ridges of the mountains, a presence begins to take form… it moves unseen through frost-bound passes, speaks in the rustle of pines beneath a moonless sky, and leaves its mark like starlight carved into stone… in that stillness, something awakens, distant, nameless, yet calling with a voice as ancient as the earth itself.

That presence is Othger, a spirit born in the heart of the Pyrenees, breathing the solitude of its valleys, the untamed pulse of its forests, and the infinite expanse of the cosmos above. Neither bound by scene nor fashion, this rising constellation charts its own path, drawing strength from the raw essence of pagan tradition and the timeless resonance of folk memory.

At the core of their mighty debut EP, “L’espinada de la Nit”, lie six hymns sung primarily in Catalan, nearly thirty minutes of melodic black metal where symphonic currents surge like mountain streams and riffs cut like winter air, fierce and unyielding, a vessel for visions of Pyrenean wilderness, cosmic vastness, and the eternal bond between humankind and the living earth beneath our feet. Here, primordial forces collide, melodies blaze like torches against an endless night, and black metal becomes a hymn to earth and stars alike, evoking the ancient grandeur once glimpsed in the works of Falkenbach, Windir, Månegarm, Kampfar, Moonsorrow or Thyrfing.

Released as a unique edition limited to only 33 hand-numbered copies, “L’espinada de la Nit” is presented in an oversized 4-panel digifile meticulously handcrafted from heavyweight matte-laminated stock, complete with a printed cardboard sleeve and a shining black polycarbonate CD.
