The international black metal band Lebenssucht – one of the most prominent female-fronted entities within the genre, has announced its dissolution. Following the release of their EP “Fucking My Knife” (2016), the devouring full-length “-273.15°C” (2020), and numerous live rituals across the globe, the band has chosen to bid farewell. To mark the end of the entity known as Lebenssucht, the musicians have unveiled their final single, “To Feed or Be Fed On”, sealing the end of their journey.

Here is the full public statement of
Lebenssucht:
“Dear fans, Lebenssucht has been a
huge part of our lives. We’ve grown together, travelled together,
argued, laughed, learned, and created something we are truly proud
of. It’s been ten years of shared moments: the songs we wrote, the
places we went, standing on big and small stages, and feeling that
quiet connection when someone out there understood what we were
trying to say.
After a long period of reflection and many conversations, we have now decided to bring this band to an end. Over time, we simply found ourselves moving in different directions – creatively, personally, and in life. Nothing sudden, nothing explosive. Just a calm and gradual realisation that this chapter has reached its natural end. We want you to know this comes from a place of respect and clarity. We still respect and care for each other. But for us, continuing Lebenssucht wouldn’t feel honest anymore – to ourselves or to you.
The music remains. And we want to leave you with one last song, accompanied by visual memories from throughout the years – fragments of what we shared. This final video is our way of saying goodbye and a heartfelt THANK YOU to our fans! Thank you for supporting us, for listening and showing up on gigs, for believing in us and for being part of this journey. We would also like to thank all our past band members for their contribution and the time we spent on and off stage together. You will always be part of our story. What we shared with you all will stay with us, those memories will never fade. And as we say goodbye, know that your support meant everything.
All of us are still active in other projects. If you
want to continue supporting what we are doing, you will find a few
