Hailing from Buffalo, Hubris reveal a new glimpse into their forthcoming second full-length offering, “Acts of Sedition”. Hubris statement about “Acts of Sedition”:
“‘Acts of Sedition’ represents the culmination of an arduous task; with tracking that began late in 2022 across different states, totaling nearly an hour of punishing music, and a finished master from just last year, this staggering full-length is our Opus Magnum. The style, sound, and atmosphere we cultivated in Regency of Hungering Swords is here refined, perfected: a scathing onslaught lashing humanity’s worst impulses and following them to their horrific depths, to laugh in mockery at those foolish enough to cling to the pride of their petty power. The album art was impeccably created by Triple Seis Design, the handle of the talented Santiago Jamarillo, and it perfectly encapsulates our atmosphere: the ruined corpse of a petty tyrant cast down as refuse as the heralds of the new dawn arise in Hell’s fire. Elanti arranged the work flawlessly into its physical form, and it is finally a marvel to behold. Tracked in Buffalo by Joe Leising at Select Sound, and then by Hellskald at Lichfiend’s home, and then by Dave Parkins at his studio in NC, and then by Hellskald by himself in Antiquity’s rehearsal dungeon, this record is the result of a web of creatives hammering the anvil to strike greatness into being. The final swings were by the mixing talents of Dave Kaminsky, who at Studio Wormwood in Asheville NC brought this sonic vision to life by staying true to our roots, growing them into our sound, and refining them in his expertise into a weapon of precise malice. The last wound was dealt in the Master by Ryan Williams at Augmented Audio in Los Angeles, to give our wicked laughter its final cudgel of brutal punishment”.
