From the peaks of Aosta Valley, the Italian black metallers Urus forge a sound built on raw black metal and heavy sludge, inspired by the extinct European aurochs. Exploring the friction between ancient strength and modern decay, the trio’s debut album “IV” marks a relentless journey through the stages of human life, reflecting the untamed nature of the beast that gave them their name. The offering is out now, released independently by the musicians, with a cover artwork by Octavia Monaco.
