The music for the album was recorded by the sole member of the project – VOLKH, during December 2025/January 2026 in Lebane, Serbia. The drums were recorded in Finland by Filip Gäddnäs, who crafted the session drums for the offering. The mixing and mastering duties were handed to Luka Ilić. This EP is self-released by the band, and any labels that wish to collaborate can contact Strahor at [email protected].
As a black metal division from southern Serbia, the black metal project STRAHOR contains the heart of some of the wildest landscapes in its homeland, implementing their beauty into each melody. Majestic and in the same time extremely ferocious, Strahor’s work is a bright example of the Balkan authenticity, mythology, folklore and essence. Following the old ways, “Сјај последње ватре” is delving deeper into Slavic paganism and history, and tells a story of forgotten lands, fallen heroes and hidden powers, observing their faith from afar. The album concept is connected to the region of the hills above Niš, on the grounds where the Battle of Čegar was fought in 1809, during the First Serbian Uprising against the occupying Ottoman forces. Desire for freedom and blood, spilled over the mountain trails lie at the core of “Сјај последње ватре”, coming as ancestral whispers from the past in four merciless black metal anthems.
