The Ukrainian black metal entity SVRM presents its new offering, “Мертвий край”. This time, longtime collaborator Cronin joins the project as a bassist as well, giving the bass a much stronger presence and bringing a new layer to the band’s established sound.
The album’s lyrics move through barren fields, abandoned villages, and ash-covered wastelands where hope has long since died. Mixing bleak imagery with themes of ruin, decay, and spiritual collapse, the record creates an atmosphere steeped in darkness and loss. Even under the crushing weight of grief and devastation, the melodies and sweeping atmosphere give the sorrow a strange sense of beauty and grandeur.
