Time for the Serpent to rise high!

Norwegian symphonic black metal masters DIMMU BORGIR reveal their  eleventh full-length offering, “Grand Serpent Rising”, out today via Nuclear Blast! The album was recorded , mixed , mastered at Studio Fredman in Sweden. Physical relics are available here: https://bit.ly/4byzOHN.

Eerie shadows are lurking in the dark corners of this spring –  the spirit that denies, a force able to distort our conception of space and time.  Conceived in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, DIMMU BORGIR quickly broke free from the boundaries of the genre, daring to combine a traditional raven black sound with opulent symphonic orchestration. Soon they turned into pioneers of their field, forging groundbreaking albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997), Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), or Death Cult Armageddon (2003), invading the entire world with headline tours and eventually turning into the most influential act of their genre after ten full-length studio releases, with the eleventh ritual now upon our dark souls.

“Grand Serpent Rising” blends brutality with striking diversity and symbolic themes of renewal, growth, and transformation. Inspired by the serpent as a metaphor for shedding skin and rebirth, the record channels both the band’s legacy and a renewed creative force. From the ominous opening of “Tridentium” through nearly an hour of relentless music, the album delivers a powerful, cohesive statement that fuses early Norwegian black metal ferocity with decades of refined composition.
