After a long hiatus, Ater Era return with their fourth full-length album, “Sinistria”, released today independently by the band. The official release show will take place this Saturday in Ljubljana (link).
Operating between Slovenia and Trieste, Ater Era has evolved from a solo project into a fully realized force of downtuned black, doom, and death metal. Since 2006, they have been shaping a sound built on heaviness, repetition, and controlled disintegration, gradually expanding from primal black metal into slower, more oppressive, and organic sonic territories.
With “Sinistria”, Ater Era reach their peak. The album brings together years of transformation into their most mature and distinctive form yet – a unique and devastating sound where black, doom, and death metal merge into one. Heavy, deliberate, and uncompromising, “Sinistria” stands as the band’s strongest and most refined work to date.
Bastard-born in a land of fractured identities, Ater Era channels the red soil of Istria as it rots, darkens, and transforms into something else entirely. Within Sinistria, the red soil of the region is no longer a symbol of belonging, but a material subjected to decay, erosion and eventual blackening. Through downtuned, crushing black metal with elements of doom and death, Sinistria embodies a sound that is oppressive and uncompromising.
Bastard roots. Sinister Evolution. Sinistria.
