International black metal endevour KHOLSTOMER presents its debut offering, “Elegy”. The album is out now, co-released between Satanath Records and Pagan Fury Records. The album artwork and the logo were crafted by Cami Lee.
KHOLSTOMER is a black metal project split between New York and Poland. Founded by James Oskarbski (Odious Spirit), the band draws inspiration from literature, history, and the contradictions of human nature. Rejecting both nostalgia and modern excess, Kholstomer pursues an austere vision of black metal rooted in atmosphere, intensity, and conviction…
The debut album “ELEGY” presents seven tracks of raging, melodic black metal informed by reflections on Tolstoy’s view of mortality and war. Drawing from the idea that history is shaped less by great individuals than by vast, impersonal forces beyond anyone’s command, “Elegy” finds both tragedy and transcendence in human limitation. Relentless drumming, tremolo-driven guitars, and stark melodies carry these themes while remaining firmly rooted in black metal tradition.
For fans of Dawn, Mgła, Emperor, Woe, Winterfylleth.
