FVNERALS is an experimental duo from Leipzig, Germany.
Doom, post-rock, dark ambient sounds and drone atmospheres haunt
the listener with each of their tracks.
Although they do not offer music that is quite harsh and
heavy in the instrumental and vocal aspects, they always go
deep and recreate highly touching soundscapes.
If you like Darkher or the last Draconian albums, if you are
captivated by the cathartic atmospheres of Amenra, then you will
fall in love with FVNERALS without a doubt and shall dwell in their
darkness with eyes closed and heart full of pleasure.
“Let the Earth Be Silent” is the band’s third full-length album,
in which FVNERALS melodically describe the emptiness and depth of
the deepest abysses, making it a symbol of metamorphosis and
catharsis, but also of the apocalypse that humanity brings in its
wake because of its selfish and superficial nature.
Immersion in impenetrable darkness and a hypnotic dance among the
shadows is perhaps the best description of what is about to be
released on February 3rd via the Prophecy Productions label.
With their seven tracks and around 40 minutes in length, FVNERALS lead us down the path of darkness and the depths of the unknown, and hardly anyone could remain indifferent – the music is felt by all senses.
Hypnotic and smooth drone guitars lead us into the album’s first track, ‘Ashen Era’, gradually building up the track with ritualistic percussion, soaring vocals, and gradually transitioning into stripped down guitars with nice reverb and drums, among which the magical voice of Tiffany Ström wanders like a wandering ghost. A melancholic psychedelic state floods with every chord – the artistry here is at a very high level, as in any of the previous FVNERALS records -as if you are surrounded by the mostu npiercable mist.
“Let the Earth Be Silent” is a mesmerizing dark ritual in which you are possessed and slowly withdraw from your body. This FVNERALS album is about a total immersion into the deep, purifying darkness. Heavy doom metal guitars and ambient sounds, intertwined with gentle vocals, at times decorated with barely perceptible folklore ornaments or coming in the form of ritualistic chants or the cry of sirens, share with the listener pictures from another dimension. Haunting, lingering in the mind long after the last note has ended.
