Liberation! Illumination! Apotheosis!

The ritual begins.
Psychedelic sounds make their way into every part of my mind, and the priestess’s echoing incantations call forth strange eerie voices that echo the sounds of the depths of the Abyss. It would be an adventure that, as dangerous as it was, I would later learn was one of the most fascinating I had ever been invited to.

After we all take our Luciferian Oaths, a mind-numbing sight unfolds before my eyes – the deep, formless waters of Tehom float around me, demonically rapid guitars and the furious calls of beings of unknown power echoing around them. A strange  light embraces me and their voices ring out ritualistically as I feel their fiery  breath all around me.

The hallucination, from which I do not want to wake up, suddenly takes on a bloody hue, and the creatures seem to come closer and closer, and in an instant I am next to them and their numerous horde – giants with stars on their foreheads, with snakes wrapped all around their bodies and bloody wings . We march. I feel a burning sensation where my heart should be – a black flame comes out of my chest and my lips begin to resound along with those of my new brothers…

„Father!
We are sons of the serpent
Father!
We swallow its light
Father!
We are as one with your flesh.
FATHER!“

Guided by the black shadowy light, I fall into timelessness. Guitar sounds gently pour around me, making me forget my direction and my blazing spirit. And as if noticing this, Xes roared with his loudest thunderous voice and the entire abyss trembled under his pressure. Drowning in the depths of Lucifer and gifted with his blood, we move forward. We breathe out fire that clears our souls and enlighten path.

„We enter your abyss and we will ascend
to the throne of God.“

Melodies flow clear past each one of us – mesmerizing guitars, fast pulsating drums and such beautiful & cold tremolo are echoing like our anthem, pointing us in the right direction. Mesmerized by the instruments, my brothers fall into a trance, and the sound of their chants reverberates throughout the formless matter of Tehom. Suddenly, Xes stands directly in front of me, his eyes all  black and his deep voice ritualistically calls out, “Mahalat! Lucifer!”. I already know. The flame begins to burn even more brightly and a sense of power from bygone eras that I know well emerges within me.

Driven by the power given to us by Lucifer, in a state of transcendental trance, we step back into the darkness, as  each of our flames is  shining like a guiding star. In our veins flows the knowledge of the world, and around us pass winds of furious chants, in rhythm with our pulsating blood.

„I am magic!
My Flame burns brighter at night
I rejoice!
I eat the heart of mankind“

And here we are – we have reached the Shrine. Smooth rhythmic drums and atmospheric guitars welcome us to merge our light into one. The power within us grows, an uncontrollable sense of strength surrounds us and we realize – we are the Shrine of the Black Flame. A mighty roar of transformation soars above the space and echoes amid frenetic, mesmerizing guitar solos that bring our soul-stirring journey to a close.

We are the power. We are the light. We are knowledge. We are the descendants of the Serpent.

… This was my journey  during the nearly 44-minute long „Shrine of Black Fire,“ the sixth full-length album by Italian dark souls Infernal Angels.
A transcendental experience filled with fiery magic  and pure Luciferian invocations spread across eight hymns of enlightenment and personal might.
